Karg
Corporation was founded by Frank J. Karg in April 1947.
In the beginning the
company provided production machined components for customers.
Early on, rubber hose companies sought out Karg Corporation for repair parts
and later to manufacture their proprietary wire and yarn carriers used on
their braiding machines.
Jim Karg took over as President in 1961, after the death of his father.
It was
during this time that the Karg Wire Carrier became a successful
retrofit to
the many then existing braiding machines. During the 1960’s – 1980’s the
large capacity "Karg Wire Carrier" became the standard for hydraulic
hose manufacturers around the world.
In 1970 Karg assembled an engineering team for the development of a large
bobbin capacity, high speed, rotary yarn braiding machine, which became the
most cost efficient yarn braider in the world. The first Karg Braiding
Machines were shipped in 1973 and have been in continuous service since that
time.
In 1998 Karg introduced a state of the art HX Rotary Braiding Machine with a
super large bobbin capacity that promises to be the industry standard for
years to come.
The legacy of Frank J. Karg continues from his son James to his grandson,
Michael Karg. He is inspired by the same long-standing family tradition of
dedication to quality, engineering and service that guided his father and
grandfather. The Karg name means commitment to innovation and to the
introduction of new technology designed to meet the standards of the hose
braiding industry today and setting standards of excellence for tomorrow. Karg
braiding machines and carriers are used on every major continent, a position
earned by superior speed, quality, and performance. The company is
particularly proud of the service record of its braiding machines, where
mechanical maintenance is remarkably low, and designed to allow maintenance to
be performed by in-factory personnel.
In the years to come, Karg Corporation will continue its commitment to meet
and exceed industry standards with the level of innovation, service, quality,
performance and reliability customers of Karg Corporation have experienced
since 1947.
